Description
Spend a magical day learning about indigo; what it is, where it grows, the history and how to setup and look after an indigo dye vat.
Fresh leaf indigo will hopefully be available to use but is not guaranteed, this is all subject to growers supply.
You will get to dye using a 1-2-3 fermentation indigo vat. A kit is supplied of wool yarn, cotton & silk embroidery thread, cotton & silk fabric for you to try both cellulose and protein fibres. Basic shibori techniques will be shown.
You are welcome to bring a small light weight item of clothing to dye; no more than 1 square metre. All items participants bring can be dyed at the end of the class once everyone has completed using their kits.
Workshop runs from 10am to 3pm
