In May this year Provenance artisan Irfan Khatri attended the International Batick Festival in Semarang, Indonesia. Whilst there he attended a batik workshop organised by the Sangam project. Irfan said he was most intrigued by the intricate copper and steel blocks as he mostly works with wood blocks. Traditional Indonesian batik designs and hand painting were also of great interest.
