Provenance Travels to India

In November 2013 Provenance travelled to colourful India to visit artisans and their workshops; it was wonderful to meet everyone and their families.

Visiting workshops attached to an artisans home was extra special as it gave you a real appreciation of how traditional crafts are embedded in everyday life and passed from one generation to another. This was very evident at the weaving workshop of Dayalal Kudecha where we met 3 generations of family all working within the same workshop.

We also had a wonderful time meeting everyone at Aranya Naturals and the wider Srishti Welfare Centre. Our time spent with the children was just fantastic, especially singing and learning the alphabet!

Reviewing our trip on the way home we realised just how important it was that Provenance forged ahead and opened its doors to help support the talented artisans we had met. We certainly hope our customers will be as passionate about these amazing artisan textiles as we are!
